Composer and Musical Director
Michael Hurwitz is the composer, musical director and conductor of The Union Project Dance Company. He is a versatile composer with a background in jazz guitar and music technology. He has a master’s degree in studio jazz writing from the University of Miami, and a bachelor’s from Berklee.
His music has recently been played by the Costa Rica Symphony Orchestra and the Latin Songwriter’s Hall of Fame Award Show. He currently does mockups for composer Andrea Morricone, and in the past he did the mockups for Seth MacFarlane’s Grammy nominated album “Music is Better than Words”.
As a guitarist, he has played in many theater productions such as Disney High School Musical, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Thoroughly Moderne Millie, and The Full Monty. He has also travelled the world as a show band guitarist on several cruise lines.
